This is my secondary blog and is designed as an archive of my handmade creations, past and present. I also add dates of fairs I'm attending, where I offer for sale my handmade pieces and also carefully sourced vintage goods. I hope you will enjoy taking a look, Niki x

Rings on her Fingers...

I made some rings today from Edwardian wooden blocks, printed with letters.
Rings are adjustable and are silver plated.

Plain vintage suitcase, cheered up with a smattering of hand crocheted doilies.

Shop is fully stocked with masses of treasures - Hope to see you soon! ;-))
Have a lovely weekend,

A Variety of Items Heading for Nostalgia at No.1...

Thought I'd make some coat hanger covers for a change, based on 1930's styles...I was inspired by the shape of the vintage hand embroidery which had once been part of a tablecloth...the design seemed to follow the shape of the hangers...
I used C19th French linen for the other side.

Any precious scraps of the hand embroidery that was left over, was combined with vintage floral fabrics and used to make lavender filled sachets.

A little revamp project was required for this pretty chippy painted chair...
It appeared to have had three re-covers in its lifetime, so I stripped the whole lot off and started again...
I used a stunning French Scheurer fabric from 1884!

A lined basket handmade using a pretty ditsy print vintage lingerie fabric...Lovely for baby essentials.

I've put together several vintage gardener gift sets.
And in-between times make myself busy using some of my favourite French fabric fragments to make more lavender-filled sachets. Always a great seller at my shop...

Summer Inspiration

Two more cushions for my shop's shelves...
These were made from a classic Sanderson printed linen.
Fasten with fabric ties. (New feather-filled pads inside.)
Pretty Lloyd Loom bedroom chair is sold - Thank you!
I also made a summer bag featuring a vintage hand embroidered crinoline lady in her summer garden.

It is combined with a lovely French floral fabric, with a Sanderson cotton for the handles.

Salvaged pieces of vintage fabrics and hand embroidery were used to make some more lavender-filled sachets....The scent of summer...

My final make for today was to cheer up this sweet little collection of vintage handmade doll's furniture. I made a mattress for the bed using C19th French ticking. A pillow and cushion for the stool were created from a rich red striped ticking of the same era.
Have a lovely sunny weekend,

Sunny Sanderson

This bright and cheerful sunny Sanderson fabric is one of my favourites...I had just enough left in my supplies to make one cushion...
Which I decided to make for our own home for a change...
I just kept it simple...
Backing it in cheerful gingham to tie in with the other furnishings in our house.

Hope you are enjoying the current heatwave.
Happy Summer,

Floral Lining

I bought a lovely strong willow basket recently, which was a bit plain...So today I made an elasticated fabric liner for it.
I used a summery c1930's floral fabric.
It would be ideal for storing cutlery, or a selection of jams for the breakfast table.
Lots more pictures of my shop on my latest Facebook update.
Have a lovely weekend,
