This is my secondary blog and is designed as an archive of my handmade creations, past and present. I also add dates of fairs I'm attending, where I offer for sale my handmade pieces and also carefully sourced vintage goods. I hope you will enjoy taking a look, Niki x

Heart of the Matter

I've been making some last minute items for the Vintage Bazaar today - These will all be coming with me on Saturday. I'll show some of my larger pieces on my main blog tomorrow evening... before I pack the car!
These linen hearts are all stuffed firmly with lavender and are embellished with antique lace and buttons. I think they'd be lovely hanging from a Christmas tree amongst lengths of lace used instead of tinsel, and alongside pretty vintage glass baubles.

I made this little lavender sachet too.
Another lavender heart, this time with a tiny lace pocket.
(Sanderson chintz)
And finally these more festive hearts, which will decorate a twig tree on my stand.
Made from a rare French fabric and embellished with glass chandelier prisms. They have a loop of antique metal piping to hang them.

Hope to see you on Saturday if you can make it.

Gift Ideas

I've started working on more gift items for the shop with the approach of Christmas.
These brooch pillows are ideal for women of all ages, and are a one-of-a-kind treasure to keep forever.
A variety of styles and colours offer more choice to get the gift just right.

Quick Plug for Upcoming Events...

*

In between working on some of my shop's best sellers, such as these simple lavender filled hearts, I have been busily hand making lots of new items for the upcoming fairs that I shall be attending...
The main ones being the Vintage Bazaar, Frome - More details here...
And the Vintage and Handmade Christmas Fair. Details here.
I'll post photos of some of the items I shall be taking to the fairs, nearer to the time.

I'm also looking towards Halloween and making sure there is a good supply of black party dresses available at my shop, such as this beautiful black velvet traditional Laura Ashley dress.
Thanks for stopping-by,

Cushy Numbers

Its been another day of cushion making...
I've been making use of the lovely green floral furnishing fabric that I bought recently.
- This one is combined with some vintage hand embroidered linen.

Then there is a pair of floral ones to go with it.
All have envelope backs with tie fastenings.

Another cushion is a patchwork of vintage hand embroideries, which I was able to salvage from damaged tablecloths and tray cloths.
I used the corners of an old tablecloth to make the flower corners to the cushion cover.
It has C19th French linen for the reverse.

Just Like Mummys

I've been recycling more pieces of vintage hand embroidery to make some handbags for little girls...
Both feature crinoline ladies and are combined with antique French linen for durability.
Mummy's bag is larger and has a cross stitch floral design...
To use when out for morning tea! (Salvaged from an old damaged tray cloth!)
