This is my secondary blog and is designed as an archive of my handmade creations, past and present. I also add dates of fairs I'm attending, where I offer for sale my handmade pieces and also carefully sourced vintage goods. I hope you will enjoy taking a look, Niki x

Lavender Sachets

Saturday was quite busy in my shop, but I did manage to rustle-up some lavender sachets in-between customers. I have used some of my precious antique French fabric fragments to make this latest collection...
Two with hand stitched monograms on linen.

The reverse.
A gorgeous piece of purple antique toile featuring a cherub, which is stitched onto C19th French linen. I only had this tiny piece, which appears to have once been part of a quilt...can you imagine the complete quilt?!
More ancient toile - this one is combined with a rich ruby red French fabric and C19th linen.

So Far This Week...

I have made a collection of padded coat hangers. I've used an assortment of vintage/antique fabrics. Each is finished with a lace bow and vintage costume brooch, which can be removed and worn...

I also made a sweet selection for children, using vintage nursery prints...

Decorated with embroidered ribbon bows.

One of my gathered handmade hand bags...I used a fabulous cotton fabric in a lovely minty green.
Vintage button (of course! ;-))...
And a contrasting flannelette fabric lining.

I made a few of the popular scruffy patchwork lavender filled hearts too, just to round  things off :)

Have a lovely weekend,

Lace and Lilacs

A lovely lady brought in some pretty vintage linen's to my shop a couple of weeks ago, that had all belonged to her mother. She asked me to use them in some of my crafts.
There was a gorgeous set of napkins which had been obviously loved and enjoyed over the years as they had been repaired several times. I salvaged the good bits and used the beautiful hand stitched embroidered details to decorate these French linen lavender-filled hearts.
A hanging loop and glass bead finished each one.

Another heart made from C19th French linen with monogram.

I also made a pretty shoulder bag today. I used a vintage fabric printed with lilac blooms.
Lined inside with French linen. It fastens with a Deco button and fabric loop.
A vintage costume brooch completes the picture!

Little Lavender Bags

Been using up little pieces of vintage hand embroidered linen today.
Stuffed full and tied with velvet ribbon...
With a glass bead to finish.

I also made a pretty hand bag from 1950's fabric, with a lace appliqué and glass button fastening.
Lined inside with pastel pink velvet.

Summer Creations

I've used a pretty vintage Sanderson floral fabric to make this summery handbag....
Combined with a corner from an old napkin, Victorian glass button...
And lined inside with classic black and white ticking.

Another style of bag using the same fabric combination...
with a c1930's wooden button.

A pair of cushions, fashioned from vintage hand embroidered linen, featuring a crinoline lady.
Reverse is ticking, with two ties for ease of laundering.

A shoulder bag made from more of the hand embroidered linen and ticking.

And I've made two of these dainty little handbags. I used a different hand embroidered fabric for these, with a pleasing pastel colour combination.
Lined inside with C19th French linen.
Mother-of-pearl button and loop to fasten.

Reverse.
A busy week!
