This is my secondary blog and is designed as an archive of my handmade creations, past and present. I also add dates of fairs I'm attending, where I offer for sale my handmade pieces and also carefully sourced vintage goods. I hope you will enjoy taking a look, Niki x

Glorious Gifts!

One of my most favourite parts of my job, is putting together pretty gift sets for the on-line shop. Not only is the shopping part fun, searching through all the tiny and interesting collectables at flea markets, but I love putting together the perfect selection of items to make up a thoughtful gift. It all takes time to get it right, but I love the end result. Sometimes I group to colour, other times I have associated ephemera and trinkets for a certain occasion, or special time of year.

I generally always include at least one vintage postcard -I adore searching for these with their pretty nostalgic images. Vintage costume brooches are another of my favourite additions.

Dainty cotton handkerchiefs are always popular too, I think because it is so difficult to find new attractive hankies nowadays, that the vintage ones are the answer.

*

One-of-a-kind finds always make for a special keepsake gift set...

Scented soaps wrapped in vintage floral wallpapers sit on china saucer soap dishes.

A more recent idea for me are the candle gift sets. I shall be making more of these nearer to Christmas.

Handmade powder-puff sets for the vintage boudoir.

I loved it when I found some delightful handkerchief sachets to add to the gift set selection.

And these extra special gift sets were part of my website re-launch last January.

More 'Handmades'

Another selection of assorted 'handmades' from my archives - many of these date back to when I had my shop, so, sorry again for the quality of some of the photos - digital cameras weren't what they are now ;-)) - Do wish I had, had a blog back then though, as it could have done wonders for advertising...
