Stocking up For Spring

After a very successful day at the Vintage Bazaar last week, I am back on the sewing machine filling up my little shop again...

A springtime handbag made from vintage fabric and hand crochet lace. 

A pair of fresh floral 1980's Sanderson cushions... 

With hand crochet lace trim.

I've also been filling up the hand made greetings card section.

Lots of nostalgic images that are beautiful enough to frame by the recipient.

Box File

I found this small cardboard box file at my local secondhand book shop recently. It dates from the 1930's...

The contents weren't very exciting...

So I decided to re-cover the file in some lovely vintage Sanderson chintz. 

I thought it would make a great storage piece for old postcards or photographs, perhaps? 

A vintage velvet ribbon keeps the contents safely inside.

I made this hat stand today too, which I have written about on my main blog here.

Pearls of Wisdom

What to do with a tray full of little glass bottles?...

Add some vintage pearl beads inside and seal with rolled-up sheet music pushed into the top. Tie lace rags around the neck and give each bottle a hand written label - 'Pearls of Wisdom'.

Tie a luggage label to each bottle, where your own pearls of wisdom can be written...
