Vintage Romance

I've been working on some romantic gifts for Christmas today.
A heart shaped cushion covered in a vintage Sanderson  floral fabric.

And lots of hand stitched padded coat hangers which are a work in progress. They will be finished with lace and brooches.

Toiling with Toile!

I've been using some lovely antique French toiles in my latest makes. Above a little scatter cushion using the 'tatty patchwork technique.
Three handbags of assorted designs...

Three.
And another little cushion, this one made from a very rare French toile.
Lovely gifts for the festive season.

Fragile fragments of Antique Textiles

I'm busy making lots of things for the shop and upcoming Christmas Fairs , including...
Lavender filled sachets/pin cushions made from rare antique fabrics, each trimmed with a shiny trinket.

Also a large 'tatty patchwork' heart shaped cushion.
I'm sold thank you!

I used fragments of antique French fabrics that I couldn't bare to throw away...
Combined with scraps of vintage lace.

Lots more cushions at the shop this week.

One made from a hand worked tapestry panel, combined with vintage floral fabrics.

The crinoline lady takes centre stage again...re-purposed antimacassars hand stitched in exquisite detail are surrounded by a beautiful c1940's Sanderson floral cotton.

And one for the children...A vintage handkerchief is the centrepiece to this cheerful cushion, bordered by c1950's roses.

Post Wedding Props!

I've been moving some of the floral displays and props from my daughter's wedding into the shop today.
The hydrangeas, sedums and rose hips should all dry quite well in their little posy vases and vintage bottles.

Old painted watering can with more hydrangeas.
China tea post are planted with viola plants.
Decorative bird cage and painted cake stand.

Another bird cage and watering can.

A decorative touch that isn't for sale is some bunting I made from damaged lace doilies.

I've also moved in some more vintage stock, such as these adorable cuddly toys.

Boxed baby set, with powder box, swansdown puff and hair brush, all in a beautiful little box.
I've been making some more pieces too... I've wanted to work on a new design for a bag and came up with this gathered style. It takes quite a bit of fabric, but I like how it turned out.
I used a fab shimmery 50's rose fabric and a wooden toggle button.

Lined inside with the same.
A pair of cushions made from a pretty vintage Sanderson chintz.

Shoulder bag made from vintage hand embroidery and a 50's upholstery fabric.
1930's button.
