This is my secondary blog and is designed as an archive of my handmade creations, past and present. I also add dates of fairs I'm attending, where I offer for sale my handmade pieces and also carefully sourced vintage goods. I hope you will enjoy taking a look, Niki x

Tutti Frutti

A recent make - a little 1930's style handbag, made in a similar way to the larger one I created a few years ago here

Lined inside with antique French toile.

Romantic Gifts Ideas...

A little antique vinegar bottle. I glued white lace to the stopper, as it was a little chipped in places. Tied some artificial roses to the neck and put some tiny (real/ dried) rose buds inside.
A tag with a Victorian paper scrap for a special message.

A French couple are displaying some vintage diamanté necklaces in my shop at the moment.

Large paper weights made from glass lenses and antique fabrics.

I also put felt on the bases.
Vintage china cups missing their saucers have been  filled with an assortment of buttons - A thoughtful gift for a crafter.

Candlelit dinner?
I've teamed some vintage china candlesticks with a pair of wax candles tied with vintage wallpaper and lace. A box of matches is covered in the same paper. A hand crochet doily completes the gift set.

Another set with antique sheet music.

All packaged and ready for sale.

For the Gardener

I made a batch of greetings cards today.
Made from sections from an antique gardening book which had fallen to pieces...(Someone had kindly removed all the beautiful old colour plates! Grrr! ) and vintage cigarette cards.
I made sure to match the right card with the correct listing in the book.
The book papers were stitched by sewing machine onto blank greetings cards (cigarette cards were glued into the centre.)
A perfect Birthday/Thank You card for a gardener.

Cabinet Reshuffle

I had these two rather grim little stained hardboard bedside cabinets lurking in my workroom. I thought their small size would make them ideal as display pieces at the fairs...
But they needed a little cheering up.
Using PVA glue, applied with a paintbrush, I covered one in a variety of furnishing fabrics and the other in 1950's wallpaper.

I'll be using them at the Vintage & Handmade Textile Fair, Chipping Sodbury in February, stacked full of fabrics for sale.
